The Moore Family Heritage Project started in the fall of 2004 with a dozen photographs, an old family tree, and a handful of historical documents. Since that time, it has grown into a large-scale research project that now totals over 1,000 historical photos, a genealogy that dates back to the mid 1700's, and a comprehensive project website.

From the beginning, the primary goals of the Moore Family Heritage Project were to compile, chronicle, and assemble as much of our family history as possible. Then, once compiled and edited, publish a printed account of our family history and heritage making it available to the entire extended family.

Shortly after the start of this project, we realized that we had underestimated the extent and depth of our family's history. To date, we have digitally scanned nearly 2,000 historical photographs, documents, and letters.

So, as a by-product of our efforts to compile and publish our family's history, we've added a third goal: to archive and preserve our family's history. While this serves our research needs, it will truely serve future generations.
